Princeton Offense – Point Away

The Point Series contains endless possibilities, mainly because it’s a read based offense. When getting to the split screen, there’s multiple reads that take place to trigger specific action. For example:

  • If the defense is locking and chasing the offense player receiving the screen, it triggers a tight curl.
  • If the defense is underneath the offense player receiving the screen, it triggers a pop.
  • If the defense is switching, it triggers a slip from the screener (we used a thumbs down call for this)
  • If the point man is denied the entry, this triggers the Point Spin (spin away from the high post, 45 cut the wing, DHO with the lifting corner into a spread ball screen, or Point Fist (ball screen)
