Teaching The Princeton Offense – Point Away Twist

The Point Series contains endless possibilities, mainly because it’s a read based offense. When getting to the split screen, there’s multiple reads that take place to trigger specific action. For example, a counter to Point Away is the Point Away Twist option.

  • If the defense is locking and chasing the offense player receiving the screen, it triggers a tight curl.
  • The curling offensive player “twists” and sets a rescreen for the original screener.
  • After the twist, the screener pops and flows into the DHO or can go backdoor if the defender is denying the pass.
