Taking a look at my home town team representing the Big Sky Conference – The Bengals ended Eastern Washington’s 18 game win streak at Reed Gym in Pocatello. Here’s a couple clips of how they did so on the offensive end.

Catch and Shoot 3’s

• With ISU playing through the post, help side defense extends and leaves the skip pass open
• The Bengals demonstrate the “one more” pass for the open 3 in transition
• The extra help, coming from the strong side, leaves the simple kick out for 3

Shooting off the Pick and Roll

• The defender goes under the screen, shooters are ready to pull up open from 3
• The roller pins the switching defender on his back, miscommunication leaves the shooter by himself

Playing Through the Post

• Patience in the post, with heavy help side, opens the door for cutters to the middle of the floor on long close outs

Post Scoring

• 1 on 1 coverage in the post led to 1+ points per possession
