Georgia Tech won the 2021 ACC Tournament Championship, utilizing the Point Series as a big part of their offensive action.
Clip 1: Point Spin
After the brush entry, the guard rejects the entry pass and gets into Point Spin. After the 45 cut and the DHO, the ball handler hits the big and flows over the top into the split action for the score. This is a phenomenal way to change sides of the floor and continue to keep the flow of the offense going.
Clip 2: Point Over
Brush entry, followed by Point Over. After rejecting the split, there’s a down screen for the shooter to get the hand off. This is a great counter for an open look from three.
Clip 3: Point Spin
Brush entry, followed by Point Spin. Similar to the previous clip, the 45 cut then receives a down screen for the shot. If there’s not an open shot, the offense flows into the pick and roll.
Clip 4: Point Away
Forwards out to Point Away. After 3 straight back door cuts, the defense is broken down when the ball screen is rejected and the 45 cut is received in the paint before kicking to the open three point shooter.
Clip 5: Point Away
Brush entry to Point Away. Alvarado gets downhill after the pick and roll for the score.
