Princeton University – Princeton Offense Breakdown

Coaches, players and basketball fans! Check out this Princeton Offense breakdown from the Princeton Tigers out of the Ivy League Conference, led by Coach Mitch Henderson. This video highlights Point and Low action out of the Princeton offense. The Tigers also run some 5 out delay action, scoring off of curls and slips out of the flare screen. I also share the teaching point for when to teach your player to use the backdoor cut.

The Princeton Offense can be extremely difficult to defend when ran in space with pace. As players become more comfortable reading the defense and making the right play, this offense becomes very powerful. One misconception I’d like to clear up is that this offense is slow and doesn’t let players play. I think it’s just the opposite of that, giving players freedom to make reads based off how they are being defended.

For additional Princeton content, check out this video of Air Force running their Point and Chin action. As a bonus, I’ve included aspects of their 21 transition offense.    • Air Force Basketball | Princeton Offense B…
