Sacramento Kings – Shuffle
One of my favorite offensive actions, and one that seems to always be open. The Kings begin their Shuffle action with the forwards out entry into the shuffle cut, followed by the STS action.

We’ve taken a deep dive into the Point Series from Air Force against Colorado State. Now, let’s take a look at another Princeton Action – Chin. The guard to wing pass triggers the chin screen, which turns into a down screen. The wing on the other side of the floor sets the flare screen for […]
We broke down the Point Series from Air Force in an earlier post, and now take a look at their Chin action. Similar to Point, and a good way to mask the action while creating pace, Air Force uses the forwards out entry. The high post sets screens for the slots before flashing to the […]
Princeton Offense – Point Series – Point Stop The Point Series has endless possibilities that come from different reads. Here’s a look at Point Stop. We used this for a big to big high low option, or for a mismatch we wanted to attack. – Point Entry (Brush, Push, Wave, Forwards Out). – Ball enters to […]
Princeton Offense – Point Series – Point Middle The Point Series has endless possibilities that come from different reads. Here’s a look at Point Middle. – Point Entry (Brush, Push, Wave, Forwards Out) – Ball enters to the Point man, and the passer sprints down the nail to the front of the rim – The […]
The Point Series contains endless possibilities, mainly because it’s a read based offense. When getting to the split screen, there’s multiple reads that take place to trigger specific action. For example:
4 entries to get into the Point Series – Guard to guard pass to brush entry – Dribble push & fill – Wave through to brush entry – Forwards out (you can also conduct the DHO and keep the opposite slot high without the exchange) #PrincetonOffense #PointSeries
Chauncey Billups and the Blazers show the Point Over Chicago look against the Suns. Nurkic flashes to the point spot (pinch post) for the catch. The pin down into the DHO triggers the Chicago action for Josh Hart, who comes back into the twist and kick for the corner three.
The Spurs showed a two guard motion shuffle action that flowed into point over for the split reject and opportunity to score at the rim. As the defender jumped to the ball to negate the screen, the defender was no longer between the offensive player and the basket so the offensive read became the reject.
Colorado State uses the forwards out entry to flow into point over, using the pick and roll to get the open shot. The tight curl would have also been open with the defender trailing.
